Well, yesterday was the big day, my 6 weeks post surgery follow up appointment. I was not looking forward to this for the very obvious reason that it involved a pelvic exam. Yuck! Kind of scared it would hurt since nothing had been used lately. Well it was fine and surprisingly no pain.
The doctor gave me the go ahead to work and exercise as much as I wanted. I was very happy about that and started immediately. I was running a few miles before the surgery but it had been so long and I am terribly out of shape. I started with a walk/run, the running part only lasting literally one minute. Ok its a start. And I was winded too. Todays goal is to run for a minute and a half. Small steps.
I am allowed to go back to work now too. I work in child care which is a very strenuous job, picking up children, bending, running, dancing and getting up and down from the floor. So glad I can go back though. I really missed the kids.
He also said that my belly button looked fine. No sign of infection anymore. Everything was healed up nicely.
So, good in that area. Thinking about doing breast surgery but not for a few years. I think I still have some time, but who knows. Both my mother and grandmother got breast cancer in their 60s. I feel like it could be the same for me. So good for now but something to think about.
